The Rooms

La Locanda di San Francesco occupies what was once the Oratorio di
Sant’Emidio e della Misericordia, rising above the ancient city walls that
surround the oldest part of Montepulciano. It is attached to the 14th
century Church of San Francesco and dominates the square of the same
name.

Careful restoration, commissioned and supervised with great passion by
the present owners, has brought to life the historic gothic portal of the
church, secret rooms and ancient bell towers, giving new life to the
building and the whole square.

The rooms are situated on the first floor and are fitted with independent
air conditioning, bar fridge, 21” LCD satellite TV, telephone, DVD player and Internet connection.
Beds are queen or king size and each room is personalised with sophisticated and exclusive furnishings. High quality parquet floors and elegant fabrics add to the atmosphere.

“La stanza segreta”, discovered during restoration, is a cosy evocative sitting room with views onto the Val D’Orcia and two stone walls that once formed part of the bell tower of the Church of San Francesco.
It now completes the suite.
Most of the roomy bathrooms have large windows with the same views that can be admired from the rooms. They feature large shower stalls (1.8 m x 1 m), are equipped with hair dryers and universal power sockets with courtesy Hermès toiletries.
